Synergy in Sculpture

"Collaborage"

TThis local project of artists in central and north Texas emphasized communication in working together to create an integrated vision within each group, in order to produce cohesive finished sculptures of contemporary and fine art. For the Collaborage project, each artist within a small group of three people began a sculpture, with every group member then taking a turn adding to each sculpture.
The project was twofold: the creation of the work, and the exhibition of the work. Originally meant to be a one month exhibit September, 2010 at the Eisemann Center, the Collaborage exhibition was extended through October by request of the Eisemann. $1,300 in cash and prizes was awarded at the opening reception by three jurors. The exhibit was then requested to show in Plano, Texas at PFAMILY ARTS Gallery, for another two month run. Collaborage ll added smaller art works in the Boutique created by the artists, a Silent Auction, and a live demo.
